Collindale Swim Meet:

Saturday July 10th @ 3500 Lochwood Dr, Fort Collins, CO 80525

Be there at 7:15am (everyone no sessions)

Toes in water warming up at 7:30am

Meet Start at 8:00am (later than we are used to, but still bring your coffee)

This is an op-in meet.   Please log into the website and select "Meets & Events" -> "Calendar"  You should see 'Collindale Away Meet".   On the right side are our favorite green boxes.   Meet Entry and Job Signup.    Please mark your kids availability and select two events.   I think we have it forced limited to 2 events because the coach wants to talk to the kids and 'encourage' them on their 3rd event that he selects.  I am also looking for 6 volunteers.  Yes six.    But wait.  It's super easy.   Three timers for events 1-49 and 3 timers for events 50+.   I promise it's easy.   Please sign up to help out if you can.

City Meet

Saturday July 17th @ All day (It's a long one)

3500 Mountain Lion Drive, Loveland, CO 80537

Session 1 (11 and older): 6:15am to noonish

Session 2 (10 and under): 12:00pm to beer'30

Warning there is an entry fee to get in the door to watch ($5 for ages 13+ and $2 for ages 12-)

Please log into the website and select "Meets & Events" -> "Calendar".  There you will also see the green boxes for Meet Entry and Job Signup.   Please mark your swimmers availability and pick the three events they want to swim.   I think the deadline for signup might be Thursday the 8th, but trying to confirm.   If you do it right now you don't have to worry about it. (do it now)  There is a $4/swimmer/event cost associated with this meet.    If you select three events you will owe the team $12.   I will figure our how to collect that later, but just be aware.    There is also a fee for relay team but the cost for that will come out of the Penguins budget since we don't know the relays yet and it makes it easier that way.  There are NO late entries and no refunds with respect to City Meet.   Volunteers, yes again (use the green jobs button).   While the City Meet is a giant meet with lots of rules it also tends to be well organized with tons of volunteers doing little jobs.  We need four volunteers at city.   Session 1 timer lane 1, Session 2 timer lane 7, and two Session 2 Kid Wranglers.   Note that the kid wranglers are 'helpers' NOT the head Wrangler.   See easy.     Please help where you can.

State Meet:

This one is short and scary.   We have zero, zip, zilch information on this.   Not sure what the deal is but I will let you know as soon as I know.

FAST:

You may or may not know your kids participated in a joint coaching exercise with FAST coaches I think this morning.   Here is the message directly from Allie at FAST:

Hi Fossil Lake Ranch Swim Club Families!

My name is Coach Allie, I coach for Fort Collins Area Swim Team (FAST). Coach Jake let me come to practice earlier this week and help him work with the Fossil Lake Ranch Swim Team. Hopefully a few of them learned a thing or two about Streamlines, Flip Turns, and Starts. I had a really fun time working with your kids, and at least one swimmer exclaimed “that was fun!” at the end and that’s all I can ask for J

If your swimmer(s) is interested in joining a swim team after the Summer Season FAST has Evaluation dates already set up:

Tuesday July 20^th 7:30-8:00AM- yes, in the morning

Wednesday July 21^st 6:45-7:15PM

Wednesday August 26^th 3:00-3:30PM

Thursday August 26^th 3:00-3:30PM

All evaluations are at EPIC: 1801 Riverside Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80525

The Evaluation is just a chance for us to get to know your swimmer, see what they can do, and make sure they get placed in a group that best fits their age and ability. It takes about 5-10minutes once we get your swimmer in the water. Our minimum requirement is to be able to swim a 25yd freestyle and 25yd backstroke, safely.
