This is a BIG email with tons of info, hold onto your flippers.

Wednesday, July 12th Meet @ SCCA

Sign up here: https://flr-penguins.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

  • Entries close Monday, July 10th at 7 am.
  • As this is the 2nd to last opportunity to qualify for state, I will allow swimmers to choose all 3 events.
  • Meet is at the SCCA Pool (313 Tulane Dr, Fort Collins, CO 80525).
  • All swimmers will warm up together, we are in the pool at 7:10 am

City Meet, Friday, July 21st (ALL AGES) @ Nelson Farm

  • Thanks to our amazing corporate sponsors (Soukup, Bush & Associates, and Decibullz) in conjunction with concessions (Thank you Sarah) there will be no additional fees for our Penguins to swim at City and State.
  • Due to growing numbers, city meet is an ever growing process for a host pool. Due to various reasons, this years City Meet will not be at one pool, but split between 5 pools. This is the best solution so the swimmers will be able to race other teams and we can stay at outdoor pools. We will be hosted by Nelson Farms and competing with Nelson Farms, Stetson Creek, and Stoneridge.
  • Entries are now open. Swimmers may swim 4 individual events, and they are able to choose those events. Meet sign up will close 7/17 at 9 am.
  • We will send out more information as we get closer.
  • Here are some FAQs:

How will awards/results happen?

Swimmers will receive ribbons for their places at the meet they attend like they normally would at a typical meet (The league board will provide the ribbons)

After all the sessions are completed, SwimTopia will merge the results for us - Swimmers who then place 1st - 3rd after the combining takes place will receive a medal (The league board will provide these)

What responsibilities does each team have?

Host team - Concessions, Computer, and communications to visiting teams

Visiting teams - Timers (2 per lane), Clerks of Course (2), Safety Marshals (2), Officials (2)

The league will pay the officials $50 each.

Is this how City Meet will be done every year?

Ideally no. Our hope is that starting next year the league will return to its’ rotation of the larger pools for hosting. We also hope to start a partnership between smaller pools and the larger pools to reduce the amount of work that one team has to go through for this type of meet.

State Meet - July 28th - 30th at Ken Caryl Pool (7676 S Continental Divide Rd, Littleton, CO 80127)

  • More info to come out as we get closer, but meet is further south than it has been in the years past.
  • Please see attached for more information.

Results from July 6th Fun Meet are attached
